Helping Hand Fund Established

The congregation is grateful to our Clerk of Session, Ira Gail White, who has funded a new ministry in the church that was approved by the Session at their meeting on March 12, 2007. Ira Gail's gift will go into a designated fund called Helping Hand and will be distributed up to $500 per month for people who come to the church seeking food. The church secretary and pastor will be authorized to give food vouchers to Sav-a-Lot up to $30 per individual and $50 per family. Thus we will provide a helping hand to hungry people who show up at the church throughout the week. This new program will be in addition to our continued support of the Panola County Food Pantry. The Helping Hand fund is in a designated account and contributions from the congregation are appropriate and will be appreciated.
